Lance G. Newman II’s adult career has been spent creating a pipeline of poetic performance art. Starting with arts education and writing workshops facilitated by his arts education company SpreadLovEnterprise; supported by open mics, showcases, poetry slams, and plays; then ending with the pipelines’ participants going on to facilitate their own workshops and create their own platforms and opportunities for arts to be seen and heard. For instance, in 2018, He created the ‘Love In the Street’ project that imprinted local poets’ poems in the sidewalks of Downtown Louisville 4th Street. All of this is JUST the motivation behind his poetic practice. He has written and performed poetry for two decades and counting.
